The first beer Young Athenians designed for Oconee Brewing Co. was LION LAMM®. Lion Lamm is a commemorative IPA that celebrates the opening of Oconee Brewing Co. and the birth of the head brewer’s son Leo Lamm. In honor of Taylor Lamm’s entry into fatherhood we illustrated a Lion nuzzling a lamb and drooped the baby’s name in the stars as the constellation Leo.
The second beer Young Athenians designed for Oconee Brewing Co. ROUND HERE BEER® is a crisp, balanced and refreshing Kolsch. After a field trip out to the charming lake country and historic downtown Greensboro, Georgia we were inspired by the time capsule / cinematic feel of the quaint southern brick dusted town. The name Round Here inspired us to illustrate a cylindrical downtown Greensboro street scene in front of The Yesterday Cafe, a knock out gem of southern cuisine that the brewers are lucky to eat at daily.
The fourth beer can Young Athenians designed for Oconee Brewing Co. GRAN DUNKEL® is a dark wheat beer with light chocolate, slight coffee notes whilst being both bready and sweet. Oconee Brewing Company tasked us with illustrating the GRAN DUNKEL® can. Located next door to the brewery is a seed and feed store that has saw dust on the floor and the uniform appears to be a weathered baseball cap and overalls. this inspired the carpenter uncle character and the green color scheme & cookoo clock are a nod to Dunkel’s Bavarian origins.
HEY MAN® is a collaboration beer with Dukes & Bell from 92.9 The Game - Atlanta Sports Radio. A very approachable, easy drinking blonde ale. Light yellow in color. Low hop aroma and bitterness. Smooth and refreshing. Oconee Brewing wanted a can that expressed both brands. The HEY MAN can is illustrated with a Dukes & Bell double portrait, with a color scheme that hints at team allegiances without making any promises.
Oconee Brewing’s ESKY is a refreshing pale ale with lots of citrus aroma and flavor. The brewers had the idea to draw a scooter in front of Uluru, a large sandstone rock formation in the Northern Territory of central Australia. We said, “sure, you got it mate.”
Oconee Brewing Co reached out to us to design their craft beer labels and website. We developed a double sided can layout as well as type system that provided for an illustration highlight between the dual titles. This can template has lead to some of the illustration best work our studio has ever put out. We also built a website that is easy for the brewers to keep updated.

The third beer Young Athenians designed for Oconee Brewing Co. THREE ONE THOUSAND® has a balanced malt and hop bitterness on the front end and heat on the back end. Hence the name 3, 1000. It’s a count down until a light habanero and strawberry spice heats up your palate. Since this is a relatively unique addition to the IPA market, we created a high caution meteoric pepper illustration that we feel conveys the heat on this IPA.
